The Office of Disability Services collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to create a campus environment that ensures all students have an equal opportunity to access the Georgia Tech community.
Job Summary
Assist the Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Disability Services in the management of the Office of Disability Services and the provision of accommodations for students with disabilities; develop and coordinate programs to maximize student use of assistive technology and alternative notetaking strategies; evaluate and interpret student disability history and associated documentation to determine and coordinate the provision of appropriate accommodations for students.
Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate programs to maximize student use of assistive technology and alternative notetaking strategies
- Evaluate and interpret student disability history and associated documentation to determine and coordinate the provision of appropriate accommodations for students
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate (15-20) student workers and graduate interns
- Meet with assigned caseload of students on an on-going basis to assist and make appropriate referrals for academic and non-academic issues to enhance student development
- Serve on divisional and campus-wide planning committees
- Assist in disability-related programming and campus-wide accessibility initiatives
- Serve in the role of acting Director in their absence
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements: Master's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience: Three to four years of job-related experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE: Strong understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act (as amended), Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and proficiency in interpreting disability-related documentation.
Other Information: Salary range: $60,000.00 to $65,000.00 commensurate with experience. Location: Atlanta, GA. Job grade: A8.
