Adjunct - AY26 Philosophy Instructor
The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is accepting applications for Philosophy Instructor positions for the 2026 Academic School Year. The LACCD is the largest community college district in the United States, serving over 225,000 students annually across nine colleges in Southern California.
Position: Part-time Adjunct Philosophy Instructor. Successful candidates will engage and educate students, collaborate with staff, and demonstrate a commitment to teaching a diverse student population.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's in philosophy; or
- Bachelor's in philosophy and Master's in humanities or religious studies; or
- The equivalent.
- A sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Duties: Teach Humanities courses, promote engaging and inclusive educational environments, and be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Compensation: The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $86.85 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.32 per hour. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
Remote Learning: Faculty may be required to conduct classes in a virtual learning environment.
Eligibility Requirement: All students and employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved exemption.
