Job Description:

Course provides students with working knowledge of terms and concepts used in the fields of information technology, specifically related to cybersecurity and digital forensics. Students will learn the history, including the fundamentals of hardware and software, that will also include lessons to assist them in understanding and develop trouble shooting skills. Topics will include skills to help students understand not just cybersecurity but also discuss the legal and ethical concerns of digital technology. Course will serve as a requirement for all students before being eligible to register for more advanced digital and cyber-related courses at the undergraduate level. Students not taking this course will still be required to take an APT (3 credit) course to fulfill CJC support course requirement.

CONTRACT TYPE: Semester based.

  • Teach undergraduate-level cybersecurity courses.
  • Qualified applicants must be committed to student learning, integrating technology into the curriculum, and encouraging engaged scholars.
  • Teach assigned classes in keeping with approved syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials.
  • Provide counsel/guidance to students when there is a need.

Requirements:

  • A master's degree in a relevant field (such as cybersecurity, information technology, or computer science) is required. Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH, are highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in teaching, training, or mentoring individuals in cybersecurity-related topics is a strong asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey cybersecurity concepts. Ability to explain technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience working in the field of cybersecurity, preferably in roles such as security analyst, security administrator, or network administrator is highly preferred. Familiarity with industry standards, frameworks, and best practices.
