Approximately 85% of our graduates either find employment or enroll in a graduate program related to their field of study within a year of graduation.

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Manhattan University seeks outstanding applicants for a part-time Adjunct Professor for the undergraduate Criminology program. This search is open to candidates in all areas of Criminology and Criminal Justice but special consideration to those with experience in Juvenile Justice, Cyber Crime/ Cyber Security, and Comparative Criminal Justice. A strong preference for candidates who hold a Ph.D. in Criminology or Criminal Justice, or a related discipline. Candidates must demonstrate experience in teaching undergraduate students.It is the responsibility of the adjunct instructor to provide content for and teach assigned courses. Courses that may be assigned include but are not limited to:

  • Juvenile justice, Criminology, Cyber Crime, Intro to Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice Administration, Comparative Criminal Justice, Ethics of the Criminal Justice System.
  • Deliver engaging and informative lectures.
  • Prepare course materials, syllabi, and assessments.
  • Provide timely feedback on student progress and assignments.
  • Other classes (electives, special topics, etc.) may also be available to teach depending on the adjunct professor's areas of expertise and the department's needs.

Qualifications:

Must have earned a M.S. or PhD. in Criminology or Criminal Justice, or related area.

Physical Requirements:

Some light lifting associated with setting up computers, document cameras, or other hardware needed for conducting a mixed in-person plus remote class
