Position Title: Adjunct Faculty, Greek and Roman Studies

Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is pleased to invite applications for an Adjunct Assistant Professor position in the Department of Comparative Literature, Languages, and Linguistics at Hofstra University. The Department of Comparative Literature, Languages, and Linguistics welcomes applications in Greek and Roman Studies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Planning classes in ancient Greek and Roman literature and culture in English translation
• Teaching classes in ancient Greek and Roman literature and culture in English translation
• Planning classes in Ancient Greek and Latin language at all levels
• Teaching classes in Ancient Greek and Latin language at all levels

Qualifications:

• PhD in classical philology; ABD candidates are encouraged to apply and will be given serious consideration.
• At least two semesters within the past 5 years teaching college level, credit-bearing courses in Greek and Roman Studies; candidates with demonstrated success teaching both ancient Greek and Latin will be given top priority.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
