Position Purpose

New England College seeks a part-time faculty member to teach Introduction to Sociology in the undergraduate residential program, as needed. The preference is for face-to-face instruction, although teaching an asynchronous online version is an option at times.

Essential Duties Summary

• Engage all students to facilitate and achieve course learning outcomes;
• Review and grade all work submitted by students and provide timely and substantive feedback;
• Coach struggling students toward success;
• Provide 'experiential learning' opportunities whenever possible.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a master's degree in sociology or related field
• Prior teaching and proven record of teaching effectiveness

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Sociology or related field
