Description

The School of Pharmacy - Boston seeks an adjunct faculty member to deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the Pharmaceutical Economics & Policy Program.

  • Deliver didactic instruction in the Pharmaceutical Economics & Policy Program on the Boston campus.
  • Provide students with an approved syllabus that includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of the School, texts and readings, assignments and deliverables, timelines and evaluation criteria.
  • Provide engaging assignments that demonstrate the real-world applications of concepts covered.
  • Uses the University's learning management system to post syllabus, assignments and other materials and to communicate with students
  • Advises and assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

Required:

  • Advanced degree (PhD, JD, MPH, or equivalent) with appropriate coursework in the subject areas relating to Pharmaceutical Economics & Policy and a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in the subject areas taught or demonstrated prior training in instructional methodology and teaching skills from a formal teacher educational program or any comparable training program or formal in-house training program.
  • Proficient skills and experience in Microsoft Office computer software systems that include word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations as well as an understanding or willingness to learn and use the Blackboard LMS.
  • Commitment to graduate education and student success
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)

Desired:

  • Expertise in areas of greatest current need to the PEP program:
  • Global Pharmaceutical Pricing and Market Access/Reimbursement
  • Global Pharmaceutical Value Dossiers
  • Patient Reported Outcomes
  • Other expertise relating to the Global Pharmaceutical industry and to the PEP program (e.g. health economics, statistics, epidemiology)
