Objective

The healthcare instructor will provide the experience and knowledge to teach non-credit healthcare courses, as well as administer healthcare programs under the Applied Technology, Workforce, and Economic Development division.

Essential Duties

• Obtain clinical locations for all healthcare.
• Teach credit and non-credit classes.
• Evaluate and report program progress.
• Monitor clinical process and student progress.
• Verify required documents for participants.
• Assist all instructors in implementation of courses.
• Serve as point of contact for facility agreements.
• Facilitate and assist with student resolutions.
• Maintain communication with clinical partners.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret regulations and policies that impact the healthcare programs.
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with high-level medical staff, instructors, students, and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office programs, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to follow and abide by Blinn College District policies and procedures.

Preferred Experience and Training

• Five or more years in a related healthcare occupation, such as licensed vocational nursing, registered nurse, pharmacist, pharmacy technician, certified clinical medical assistant, or medical doctor.
• One or more years in a nursing home or assisted living facility.
• Two or more years working with the Texas Health and Human Services on licensing and accreditation.
• Two or more years developing relationships with local clinics and hospitals to develop clinical sites for students.

Required Degree, License or Certifications

• Holds current license in the medical field of practice
• Three (3) or more years experience in healthcare and/or healthcare administration
