Adjunct Instructor - Strategy and Management of Technological Innovation - E&TIM
The Engineering and Public Policy department at Carnegie Mellon University seeks an Adjunct Instructor to teach the Strategy and Management of Technological Innovation course (#19-682) for its Master’s degree program in Engineering & Technology Innovation Management (ETIM). The successful candidate will instruct how a business strategy incorporating technology and innovation can achieve profitable growth and result in a sustainable competitive advantage for a company. The Instructor will address the role of technology management in both emerging and established firms, and examine how organization structure, activities, assets, and relationships must complement one another to capture value from innovation. Strategy will be discussed using frameworks, models, and tools, where case studies will be used to illustrate their importance. Active learning is strongly encouraged for this class, e.g., class participation exercises, team assignments, etc.
Ph.D. or MS in a technical field with at least 5 years of work experience in new product development, innovation, and strategy. Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
Excellent communication and organization skills are highly desirable.
