Adjunct Instructor, University Supervisor for Teacher Candidates
Job Description
St. Cloud State University is seeking applications for potential student teaching and field supervisors who meet SCSU and PELSB qualifications for candidate supervision. University Supervisors provide mentorship and support for teacher candidates during field and student teaching experiences. Serve as the SCSU liaison with Cooperating Teachers and Teacher Candidates. Observe and evaluate Teacher Candidates in a classroom setting, using the College of Education and Learning Design observation and assessment protocols. Timely submission of all observation and evaluation materials to the Office of Clinical Experiences. Attend and maintain training requirements/qualifications related to University Supervision requirements. Attend required University Supervisor meetings. This adjunct position will remain open for 1 year to allow departments’ access to candidate pools when there is a need to hire an adjunct to teach a course(s) during defined academic semester(s). Compensation is per credit, the current credit rate is a minimum of $1819 per credit.
Minimum Qualifications
- Holds or held a professional license with at least three years of experience as the teacher of record OR an E-12 administrator with experience in teacher evaluation
- Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach and work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualification
- Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership or closely related field (required at the time of application)
