Job Description

Under the supervision of the Site Coordinator/Coordinator of Student Services (Knoxville), the full-time administrative assistant facilitates communication and serves as liaison for faculty, staff; and students between the main campus and extended sites; provides information and referral services to current and prospective Lincoln Memorial University faculty, staff, and students; assists faculty, staff, and students with on-site instructional resources; provides administrative support to faculty (full-time and/or adjunct) with office of record and/or teaching; performs routine clerical work such as answering the phone, typing, filing, and mail processing; and performs related work as required.

Job Duties

  • Promotes the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large;
  • facilitates communication and serves as liaison for faculty, staff, and students between the main campus and the extended sites;
  • greets visitors, staff, and others in a professional and courteous manner,
  • provides administrative support and ascertains nature of business and directs visitors or callers to appropriate department or person;
  • types reports, business correspondence, memos, schedules, and other statistical and financial data;
  • provides Datatel Registrar s student account completion information on all new students the first day of class;
  • tabulates simple statistical data of nursing student s medical profile requirements;
  • maintains and updates student files/records on-site as needed;
  • routes incoming mail;
  • prepares outgoing mail;
  • schedules appointments for faculty;
  • responsible for Steri-Cycle Micro-Lab waste pick-up scheduling;
  • classroom scheduling;
  • classroom reservations for outside guests;
  • assists faculty with any changes in classroom technology and office equipment usage (projector, video, printer, etc.);
  • completes background checks for students through Trak-1;
  • operates office machines, copy machine, scanner, and computer;
  • assists with registrations when needed;
  • assists with library resources at extended site (with direction from LMU librarians);
  • maintains strict confidentiality regarding University matters; and
  • performs other duties as assigned.
