Central Connecticut State University invites applicants to join The Student Center/Central Reservations Office as a full-time Administrative Faculty Program Associate. About CCSU’s Student Center

As the living room of the campus, the Student Center provides services and facilities to support all students and the campus community. The 84,000-square-foot facility provides our University community with quality meeting, dining and programming space. In addition to maintaining the building's operations, the Student Center offices also hosts events almost every day of the semester. From Esports tournaments to commuter breakfasts, the Student Center is students one-stop shop for entertainment when out of class.

The Central Reservations Office (CRO) at Central offers a one-stop, streamlined process in coordinating meetings, conferences, and events on campus for our student organizations, campus departments, and external clients. Our Event Coordinators and service providers support thousands of events each year, providing professional expertise to campus & external programs/events.

Position Profile

The successful candidate will perform a variety of basic operational functions in the Student Center.

The Administrative Faculty Program Associate will assist employees of a higher grade in the completion of routine assignments such as planning, coordinating, preparing and executing services, programs, and events for the Student Center.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge, skills, and abilities attributed to a formal educational program of study; Knowledge of and ability to apply principles and practices of designated unit and/or program; Demonstrated technical skills; Knowledge of and ability to apply Federal and State laws and regulations as well as University and BOR/CSCU policies and procedures; Knowledge of and ability to apply best practices of designated unit and/or program; Considerable ability to use appropriate equipment, computerized systems, platforms and software; Considerable interpersonal and presentation skills; Considerable oral and written communication skills; Considerable ability to collect, analyze and prepare data; Considerable ability to prepare reports and other materials.

Applicant Evaluative Criteria

Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:

Education:

All applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in related area.

Experience and Training:

Two (2) years of professional experience in academic or administrative operations

Note: Graduate Intern and/or Graduate Assistant experience in the area of study and/or practice of the designated unit and/or program shall be prorated as appropriate.

Substitution Allowed: Successful completion of an approved Administrative Faculty Trainee program shall substitute for minimal qualifications.

Certifications and successful completion of training programs may be required prior to or during appointment.

Ideal Candidate

Preference will be given to applicants with the following:

  • Experience supporting academic or administrative operations in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working in Student Affairs
  • Experience using EMS (Event Management System) Software to process room & event reservations and support clients from initial requests through event execution and beyond.

Compensation and Employee Benefits

The Administrative Faculty Program Associate is compensated at the Administrator II salary level in accordance with the State University Organization of Administrative Faculty (SUOAF) Collective Bargaining Union Agreement.
