The University of Arizona's College of Science invites you to apply for the role of Administrative Operations Professional. The Administrative Operations Professional position will perform professional accounting activities for multiple assigned departments within the College of Science, reporting through the centralized business operations unit. This position requires basic knowledge of accounting theory and principles, and of university systems, policies, and procedures. This role will provide assistance to senior accounting staff and work on detailed accounting assignments such as reconciling complex accounts, providing financial reports and accounting statements, and processing department-level financial transactions.

Duties & Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with monthly reconciliation and management of accounts consisting of designated, gift, foundation, state, and other funding sources, ensuring compliance with external sponsors, the University of Arizona, the University of Arizona Foundation, and governmental policies and regulations.
- Assist senior accounting personnel by utilizing UAccess systems to review and monitor account transactions, account budgets, employee payroll and distributions, balances, and account reconciliations, and provide explanations and recommendations for budget variances.
- Assist with checking and analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports and accounting statements for users to have accurate and timely information for making financial decisions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for departmental accounts (Non-Sponsored Projects), cost projections, and financial analysis.
- Review and/or prepare business office documents including purchase orders, reimbursements, PCard purchases, internal billings, and edits to assets.
- Initiate transactions in UAccess Financials such as General Error Corrections, Distribution of Income and Expense, Salary Expense Transfers, and Transfer of Funds to move expenses to appropriate accounts, object code, or fund accounts under the supervision of senior accounting personnel.
- Serve as a PCard liaison and reconciler for the unit. Assist with addressing queries from the Financial Services Office - Compliance regarding PCard transactions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with others.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team.
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- 1 year of relevant work experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in higher education.
- Previous experience working with UAccess Financial and UAccess Analytics.

Rate of Pay: $25.50-$31.88
