Position Summary:

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, the Administrative Program Director provides long-term continuity by being responsible for providing administrative support and enrichment to graduate students in leadership, personal/professional growth, and identity development. The individual serves as a general manager responsible for program planning and supports the overall strategic direction and assessment set by Academic Program Directors and the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies.

The Administrative Program Director will work closely with Academic Program Directors, as well as area chairs, associate and assistant deans, and administrative staff in order to ensure program excellence and will support the school's efforts to create a holistic student experience, encouraging academic success and engagement in the Gabelli, Fordham, and local communities.

This position requires occasional Evenings, weekends, and early morning work hours.

Essential Functions:

  • Partners and meets regularly with internal university offices, including Admissions, Career Development, the Responsible Business Center, the Office of International Services (OIS), and Alumni Affairs, to ensure functional alignment with program strategy and goals.
  • Builds close rapport with students, serves as an active resource, welcomes them at orientation, marshals at graduation, and assists academic advisers with advising, residency, and registration support.
  • Provides data and input to the admissions office regarding program sizing, ideal target markets, prospective student academic requirements, acceptance criteria, and diversity needs.
  • Builds a global network of faculty, alumni, and industry professionals to drive program interest and update communications and development staff on achievements to increase institutional visibility.
  • Participates in virtual and in-person recruiting/yield events, manages prospective student inquiries, and analyzes/articulates the program's unique features, differentiators, ROI, and core student competencies.
  • Stays current on evolving career opportunities, training needs, and competing programs, and ensures that programs continue to deliver a quality education designed to prepare students for relevant career paths.
  • Establishes and enhances a professional network for the benefit of program quality, visibility, and recruitment of students for internships and postgraduate employment.
  • Collaborates with the Student Success Center Career Development team to design and execute a year-round career readiness calendar, including workshops, site visits, student presentations, and guest speakers.
  • Shares information on student trends and program changes that could impact student success and engagement.
  • Works closely with online learning administrators on course scheduling and instructor coordination, and encourages the incorporation of new technologies and pedagogical approaches to classroom instruction.
  • Conducts continuous program evaluations and compiles the official annual progress report by the June deadline of each academic year.
  • Coordinates any required program review and drafts any documents required for New York State approvals, collaborating closely with the Provost's Office and the Associate Director of Academic Effectiveness and Accreditation as appropriate.
  • Partners with the Advising Dean to propose, budget, and execute cohort relationship-building events, conferences, industry site visits, and professional association activities.

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Counseling, Advisement, Higher Education Administration, and/or MBA/MS Business programs and/or their equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years' experience in higher education advising or administration, working with master's level domestic and international students, as well as faculty.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD or EdD
