The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix invites applicants to apply for an exciting and rewarding opportunity in the Department of Undergraduate Medical education (UME)! The Office of Admissions and Recruitment of the College of Medicine - Phoenix is seeking a full-time Admissions Professional I to join a dynamic team. This is an entry-level position to assist the Admissions and Recruitment Department with recruitment and retention initiatives. This position is also responsible for the coordination of processes regarding pipeline initiatives, recruitment efforts, medical school application screening, campus and community engagement, logistical coordination of admissions committee, and new student retention activities. The primary focus for the role will shift at different points in time during the year based on the nature of the medical admissions cycle.

Duties & Responsibilities
Summer Semester Support:
- Coordinate efforts to support the exposure to the field of medicine with pipeline initiatives geared toward undergraduate students.
- Coordinate and support activities for participants.
- Track attendance and participation of participants and volunteers.
- Assist with the implementation of the registration process and events.
- Collaborate with the Admissions and Recruitment team on preparation for the start of the medical school application cycle and the screening of applications.
- Assist the team with the progression of applications through the application cycle.
Fall / Winter Semester Support:
- Coordinate recruitment initiatives with the Admissions and Recruitment leadership.
- Act as backup for pipeline manager for high school pipeline events.
- Present at virtual information sessions or those held on campus, and college recruitment visits.
- Support and participate in recruitment events with other department outreach coordinators at conferences.
- Collect and track events and participants of each visit and event.
- Collaborate with the Admissions and Recruitment team in preparation for the start of the medical school application cycle and the screening of applications.
- Assist the team with the progression of applications through the application cycle.
- Lead logistical coordination for admissions committee meetings and minutes, and act as contact for admission committee members.
Spring Semester Support:
- Coordinate efforts geared toward the retention of admitted medical school students.
- Support Revisit Days and Second Look events.
- Coordinate the pairing of admitted students with volunteer faculty, and on-boarding efforts.
Support the Associate Dean of Admissions and Student Services with administrative responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
- Skilled in public speaking and presenting for large groups.
- Knowledge of office and administrative practices and principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Skilled in the use of personal computers and software.
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions.
- Detail-oriented and strong customer-centric planning skills.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- 1 year of relevant work experience may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
- Two year's of work experience in higher education related to admissions.
