The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking new adult or pediatric pain psychology faculty members at the rank of Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Professor in the Clinician Educator (CE) Line. The Department has well established multidisciplinary adult and pediatric pain management clinics. These groups are committed to advancing the treatment of pain through innovative treatments, advocacy, education and research.

Clinical psychologist applicants must have a doctoral degree in psychology or equivalent degree, have completed an APA-accredited internship, and possess or be fully eligible for licensure as a psychologist in California.

The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educator is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administration, and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Opportunities exist to participate in clinically oriented research, quality improvement, medical education, advocacy, global health, and other areas based upon the candidate’s interests. Mentorship, infrastructure and support will be provided to all successful applicants.

Rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Salary Range

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Clinical Assistant $169,000 – $189,000

Clinical Associate $208,000 – $228,000

Clinical Professor $255,000 – $297,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. For more information about compensation and our wide range of benefits, including housing assistance, please contact the hiring department.

Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
