Base salary will be in the range $95,361 - $102,302 + 17% super (HEW Level 6)

About This Opportunity
This is a pivotal opportunity to contribute to the University of Queensland’s IT portfolio governance at a time of significant transformation and investment. As the Analyst, Project Governance, you will play a trusted and influential role within the IT Portfolio Management Office, ensuring the integrity, quality and insight of project and portfolio data that underpins informed decision-making at the University. Working in a collaborative, inquisitive and purpose-driven environment, you will partner closely with project teams, governance bodies and technical specialists to strengthen transparency, consistency and confidence in UQ’s IT investment landscape.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the accuracy, completeness and integrity of IT project and portfolio data within UQ’s Project Portfolio Management tools, supporting robust governance and assurance outcomes.
- Delivering high-quality portfolio analysis, dashboards and reporting that identify trends, risks and insights for senior stakeholders and governance committees.
- Supporting and enabling project teams through guidance, training and user support to promote strong data quality, compliance and consistent use of governance processes.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of IT PMO frameworks, systems and reporting practices, helping to enhance portfolio visibility and organisational maturity.
About You
You are a detail‑driven and analytically minded professional who thrives in structured project environments and enjoys enabling better decision‑making through high‑quality data and insights. You bring a collaborative mindset, strong systems capability and a genuine interest in portfolio governance and continuous improvement.
You also will bring:
- A relevant qualification in business, information technology, data analytics or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience working in project, portfolio or PMO environments, with exposure to enterprise systems, portfolio reporting or governance processes.
- Strong capability in data validation, analysis and reporting, with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity.
- Proven experience developing dashboards and data visualisations, with strong proficiency in Power BI or similar reporting tools.
- Confidence administering and supporting enterprise or business systems, including managing workflows, permissions and user support.
- Well‑developed communication skills, with the ability to document processes, interpret stakeholder requirements and provide clear guidance and training to users.
- Highly organised and self‑motivated, able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- A collaborative and service‑oriented approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, aligned to organisational values and governance standards.
