FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The School of Education of Hunter College-CUNY invites applications for a faculty position in the Department of Special Education teaching and advising in the School’s Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Program, effective late August 2026. The college places a high priority on teaching excellence at the University level with an expectation that the candidate will also be active in their professional field. Candidates must have a commitment to inquiry and advocacy on issues of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion that affect learning outcomes for all individuals. We offer a BACB-approved course sequence for students who are seeking the BCBA. We also have a Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis that offers eligibility for licensure as a behavior analyst in New York State. Programs are comprised of hyflex and fully online classes.

Applicants will be expected to: teach graduate courses; mentor masters’ level capstone projects; supervise students in field placements; advise graduate students; serve on department, school of education, college, and university committees; and assist in the development of training and/or programmatic grant proposals.

QUALIFICATIONS

All candidates must have an earned doctorate in behavior analysis, education, or psychology. Candidates with degrees in education or psychology should have an academic concentration in behavior analysis. A BCBA or BCBA-D with supervision training is required and licensure in New York State as a behavior analyst or eligibility for licensure in New York as a behavior analyst is preferred. Candidates should have experience teaching applied behavior analysis at the graduate level, supervising single-subject scholarly research, and rich experience applying behavior analytic principles in clinical settings with individuals with autism spectrum disorders. In addition, applicants should have evidence of university teaching and supervisory experience, competence in technology as an educational tool, and a commitment to work in multicultural and urban education settings.

COMPENSATION

Lecturer (Doctoral Schedule) : $62,241 - $107,686
