Anoka-Ramsey Community College is seeking one (1) part-time (80%/24 credits), fixed-term passionate educator in Art (Ceramics) for the 2026-2027 academic year. While an 80% load is guaranteed, there is potential for additional credits. This faculty position will include seated courses on the Coon Rapids campus in wheel-throwing and Hand-building, as well as participation in discipline and division matters. The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Art Department provides a quality arts education and assists students in achieving their artistic and career goals. In addition to offering an Associate of Fine Arts (AFA) degree, the Art Department provides opportunity to explore a variety of arts media. We contribute to the liberal arts education of all students by offering introductory studio courses in drawing, ceramics, glass, digital media, graphic design, painting, photography, and sculpture, as well as art history and art appreciation. We prepare individuals to build their portfolios and transfer to a Bachelor of Fine Arts (AFA) program at a four-year college or university.

Salary Range: Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted and currently range from $51,303 -$94,592. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short and long-term disability, paid personal and sick leave, retirement savings plans, tuition waiver for employees and dependents, professional development funds, along with many optional benefit programs. ** Please note, Initial Step Placement is established by the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) contract which sets limitations to the initial salary of a new faculty member. This may differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. For more information, please visit the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree with a major in fine art or
Master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in art.

Preferred Qualification
Graduate coursework in Art with a specialization in utilitarian ceramics is preferred. We also welcome applicants with other specializations in ceramics.
Teaching experience in Ceramics including hand-building, throwing, and clay altering and manipulation techniques;
Knowledge of and commitment to the history of Minnesota pottery;
Experience firing wood and soda kilns;
A philosophy of teaching that successfully integrates process-based teaching, student centered learning techniques, and a growth-oriented mindset;
Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with students, colleagues, and others.
