Position Summary Information

Position Summary: The SRU Art Department needs a part-time instructor to teach Basic Studio Drawing and Basic 3D Design for the Spring 2026 semester. With stable enrollments, strong programs, as well as a unionized and collaborative faculty, SRU enrolls some 8600 students, and the Department of Art has one largest student enrollments of those within the College of Liberal Arts. The Department offers both a BA and a BFA in Art. Slippery Rock University is located in a small rural town just an hour north of Pittsburgh. Our campus is safe, inviting, and blessed with facilities that enrich our programs and help us sustain our high student retention and graduation rates. The salary for teaching these two courses will be approximately $18,500.

Minimum Qualifications: M.F.A. in art, with specialization open. Professional portfolio of works (ten or more images)

Preferred Qualifications: Prior college studio teaching experience preferred. Examples of student work produced as a result of the applicant’s instruction.
