Position Overview

The Ohio State University at Newark seeks a 100% FTE 9/12 Art lecturer to teach Photography and related courses in the academic year 2026-2027. Responsible for facilitation of in-class learning activities, assessments (i.e., quizzes, exams, and homework if applicable), offering of weekly office hours, submission of grades, and resolution of any ongoing student or course issues.

Performance Objectives

Teaching: Develop and deliver in-person courses. Contribute to the creation and improvement of course content.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: Masters degree or equivalent. Evidence of successful teaching of introductory Photography and related courses at the post-secondary level.

The Ohio State University at Newark offered its first classes in 1957 with a mission to provide affordable, open access to Ohio State for all Ohioans. The Newark campus sits on 188 acres and shares the campus with Central Ohio Technical College. The two institutions have a strong partnership whereby they share all buildings and general-purpose classrooms, approximately 100 staff, operating expenses, and a number of capital equipment investments. Ohio State Newark currently enrolls more than 2,200 students who are taught and mentored by 45 tenure-track faculty who are members of their university-level academic department. Art faculty members are active in teaching and exhibiting around the world. Internationally known artists visit campus to teach courses and to work with students individually.
