Qualifications:

FIN 303.01, Investments

Undergraduate Spring Semester, 02/02/2026 - 05/31/2026, TTH 9:50 AM - 11:30 AM, Moraga Campus

Description and analysis of the securities market (bonds, stocks, etc.) from the viewpoint of the private investor. The student is introduced to asset valuation theories as well as the basis of portfolio selection. Particular emphasis is placed on the trade-off between risk and return, both for the individual assets and in a portfolio context.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in Finance or a closely related field and a recent publication record in the field, OR
  • A master's degree in finance or a closely related field and five years of current, relevant professional experience.
  • Candidates should have a successful record of teaching experience at the undergraduate level and experience/familiarity with online/hybrid instruction in order to prepare for contingencies. This position requires all course work to be performed in the state of California. Candidates must perform all course-related work within the state of California.

Salary: $6,480 and $10,308 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU 1021, who have previously taught the course or BUSAD 136, available here.
