Position title: Pediatric Pathologist Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and, if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $280,000 - $330,400. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description
The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) (http://pathology.ucsd.edu/) and Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego (RCHSD) (https://www.rchsd.org/) are committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body and are seeking a Pediatric Pathologist.
The Pediatric Pathology Division at RCHSD currently has 6 full-time Pediatric Pathologists and 1 Medical Director of Transfusion Medicine and provides a full range of anatomic and clinical pathology services, with approximately 13,000 surgical pathology, 400 bone marrow, 1,000 cytopathology cases, and 20 pediatric autopsies per year. The Department participates in ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Surgical Pathology, Gastrointestinal Pathology, Hematopathology, and Neuropathology at the UCSD School of Medicine and trains medical students and residents in pediatric pathology from the UCSD School of Medicine and the San Diego Naval Hospital.
The successful candidate will provide coverage of a full range of Pediatric Pathology services, including share of call. The successful candidate will also teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
The appropriate series and appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications
(required at time of application)- Candidates must have an MD or equivalent.
- Candidates must have a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
- Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic, Clinical, and/or Pediatric Pathology.
Preferred qualifications
Candidates with at least three years of experience in pediatric anatomic and clinical pathology diagnosis are preferred.
