Position title: Surgical Pathologist Salary range: The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and, if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $255,000 - $360,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Position description
The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego (http://pathology.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence within its faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking surgical pathologists to join its Division of Anatomic Pathology.
The successful candidates will have clinical responsibilities for specimens associated with robust general care, organ transplant, and cancer programs at UC San Diego Health, including the Rebecca and John Moores Cancer Center (the region's only NCI-designated Cancer Center), Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center and Cardiovascular Institute, Jacobs Medical Center, Hillcrest Medical Center, and the Koman Family and McGrath Outpatient Pavilions, as well as our referral/outreach/consultation programs and an expanding clinical integration network. The successful candidate will also attend and sign-out on one or more clinical subspecialty services within the Anatomic Pathology Division and will teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications
(required at time of application)
Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, DO, or MD/PhD in pathology or related fields.
Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Candidates must be board-eligible or board-certified in Anatomic or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.
Additional qualifications
(required at time of start)
Candidates must have completed fellowship training in a subspecialty of Surgical Pathology (such as Breast, Head and Neck, Cardiac/Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, or Gynecologic Pathology) by the start of the appointment.
