The College of Medicine, Department of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati is seeking an academic Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery as a multi-organ transplant surgeon for a full-time, non-tenure track position. This position joins an active faculty group and busy transplant program dedicated to a clinical practice supporting transplant patients, oncology patients, patients needing vascular access for dialysis or hepatobiliary surgeries; resident teaching activities of surgery residents and fellows; and clinical research. The Department actively supports the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and multiplicity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.

The successful applicant will be provided with a competitive salary and benefits, and the final faculty rank/title will be commensurate with candidate’s qualifications.

Essential Functions

  • Perform clinical duties in general surgery, solid organ transplant, and vascular access.
  • The candidate will be expected to participate in the operating room, ward teaching, and the advising and training of fellows, surgical residents, and medical students.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to an academic career through research, teaching, and supporting the department’s academic mission.
  • Attend departmental and divisional meetings as relevant, to include participation in grand rounds and morbidity and mortality (M&M) review.

Minimum Requirements

  • MD/DO or equivalent
  • Completion of a five-year accredited residency in Surgery
  • Board eligible in General Surgery alone; and with specialty training in Transplantation Surgery.
  • Licensure by Ohio Medical Board is required by time of appointment

Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
