Assistant/Associate Professor in Genetics and Cell Biology
Southeastern Oklahoma State University's Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the area of Genetics and Cellular Biology at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The candidate will be expected to teach Genetics, Cell and Molecular Biology, and Principles of Biology I. Additional courses may be taught within the candidate's area of expertise. Candidates should have a background in Genetics/Molecular Biology or Cell Biology, with a biomedical or human/life sciences emphasis preferred. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Genetics/Molecular Biology or Cell Biology or a closely related discipline from an accredited university. ABD applicants may be considered but must demonstrate the ability to have the degree conferred before the anticipated start date.
The successful candidate must be committed to excellence in undergraduate education, and teaching experience at the college level is preferred. Candidates should be able to show potential for engaging in a research program involving undergraduate and graduate students. The ability to further develop the Biological Health Science program and improve student recruitment is preferred. Additional preferred qualifications include experiences or willingness to teach online and/or hybrid courses and potentially teach summer classes.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and rank. The anticipated start date is January 2026. Candidates able to start August 2026 will be considered.
