Sarah Lawrence College Graduate Program in Human Genetics seeks an experienced professional to teach our 2-credit Research Methods course, a foundational component of our genetic counseling curriculum. This course introduces students to the research process while directly supporting their thesis project development. Students are encouraged to become better consumers of the scientific literature, including the use of search engines, a reference program, and critical reading skills in the construction of a literature review as a first step toward study design and publication. The course includes a review of qualitative and quantitative research models, development of surveys, focus groups, and questionnaires, and the basics of data analysis and working in SPSS. The course meets once a week for 2 hours.

Required Qualifications
Applicants should have experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis as applied to social/behavioral research. Applicants with experience in genetic counseling and teaching graduate-level students are preferred.
