Assistant/Associate Professor of Business-SPS

The School of Professional Studies invites full-time faculty candidates for non tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Business. Position will teach a variety of Business courses (DBA, PMBA) via online instruction. Full-time faculty at UIW are expected to teach at least two courses in the fall semester and at least two courses in the spring semester, with potential summer course assignment based on departmental need. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of full-time faculty members at the university include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities.

The School of Professional Studies (SPS) provides educational opportunities for adults wanting to earn an undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees in non-traditional formats. Classes are available in a hybrid format or 100% online.

Credentials of finalist will determine final rank. Note that this is a hybrid assignment, with regular on-campus meetings and events.

Essential Functions

1. Serve as lead in curriculum development, annual assessment, and advancement of the respective program.
2. Prepare course outlines based on approved departmental syllabi.
3. Prepare and deliver consistent, interactive course lectures which align with curriculum goals. Teaching assignment will be a minimum of one class per eight-week term (spring and fall); summer term classes to be assigned as needed.
4. Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure curriculum outcomes and accreditation standards are met.
5. Prepare and administer timely and meaningful exams, projects, and assessments for assigned courses.
6. Advise and mentor students; provide individual assistance to students during weekly office hours.
7. Participate in accreditation-related activities such as data collection/analysis and preparation of reports and documentation to ensure ongoing compliance as needed.
8. Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook and SPS Faculty Handbook policies and processes including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course.
9. Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.
10. Perform scholarly research and publication as assigned.
11. Provide service to the respective department, college, university, community, and profession.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education

PhD in Business or closely related field from an accredited institution.

Required Work Experience

Experience teaching in respective discipline in a college or university setting, both online and in-person. Note that relevant training/teaching experience in other settings (such as a corporate environment, etc.) or significant industry experience in this field will be considered in lieu of required experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching advanced courses in specialty area.
• Experience teaching diverse student populations.
• Teaching, research, or service reflecting values of social/racial justice and/or Catholic social teachings.
