Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice Electrical Engineering - 202869
The School of Engineering + Technology at Western Carolina University is recruiting for a nine-month fixed-term faculty position in electrical engineering or a closely related field at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Practice. Responsibilities include teaching, course and curriculum development, engagement with regional business and industry, and student advising. Candidates should have expertise in areas such as control systems, communications and signal processing, renewable/clean energy and grid integration, or semiconductor devices and characterization/reliability methods. The position is located on the main campus in Cullowhee, NC, with an anticipated start date of January 2026 or August 2026.
Minimum qualifications: A master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field and three or more years of full-time EE-related industry and/or teaching experience. Preferred qualifications: Five or more years of relevant industry experience, university-level teaching experience, and expertise in multiple strategic areas.
