Assistant Director, Aquatic Center and Programs
Job Description Summary
The Assistant Director assumes functional & administrative responsibility for the Learn to Swim & Dive program, and American Red Cross Program. This position assists with training of lifeguard staff, students and community, while providing program, facility, and event coverage.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the recruitment and athletic development of 100+ athletes, develop daily practice plans, direct assistant coaches and serve as the point person for the program attending swim meets home and away.
- Direct and manage the daily operation of the aquatic center & Recreational Sports Center while manager on duty. Assist with pool chemistry when assigned and assists with Special Event setup and teardown.
- Supervisory duties of students are training, assign and direct work, coach and/or counsel.
- Responsible for making employment recommendations and conduct performance evaluations.
- Must provide problem solving skills for varied situations, requiring significant analysis and interpretation with multiple solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Exercise Science or related field; or 3 years of demonstrated experience in a multi-use aquatic facility supervising programs, events and staff.
- Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for the professional rescuer and First Aid from the American Red Cross or receive within 30 days of employment.
