Assistant Director of Academic Advising, UPO Operations
Position Summary
The Undergraduate Program and Services Office (UPO) of the University at Buffalo School of Management seeks a student-focused, goal-oriented Assistant Director of Academic Advising to develop strategies and processes that support undergraduate student admission, enrollment, persistence, and degree completion. The Assistant Director will provide leadership to a small team of academic advisors and deliver comprehensive academic advising services for a diverse undergraduate population. This role supports institutional enrollment and retention goals through student-centered advising, programming, and collaboration across campus.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee undergraduate student enrollment processes in the School of Management from admission through deposit and enrollment, including the development of first-semester programming and engagement opportunities.
- Serve as a primary liaison for enrollment-related initiatives, academic pathways, and articulation efforts, partnering with Admissions and other campus stakeholders.
- Deliver individualized academic advising for School of Management majors through in-person, virtual, and group formats, including proactive outreach to support persistence and retention.
- Participate in orientation programs, welcome events, accepted student days, commencement, and deliver classroom presentations.
- Supervise and support a small team of academic advisors.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree required.
- Some supervisory experience preferred.
- Specialized knowledge and/or relevant experience appropriate to the role required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of academic advising experience preferred.
Salary Range: $72,000 - $77,000
