Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Admissions for Full-Time Programs, the Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment role serves as a key contributor to the management, evaluation, and growth for the MSA, MSF, and MSQF programs. This position plays a critical role in leading recruitment strategies to attract, evaluate, and yield high-potential candidates for some of the Gabelli School's largest, most competitive, and highest-impact graduate business programs, while also leading initiatives to strengthen enrollment pathways, optimize conversion, and support tuition revenue generation.
This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of the admissions process for the MSA, MSF, and MSQF programs, with a strong emphasis on data-informed recruitment strategy, pipeline management, and yield strategy. The Assistant Director partners closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the programs attract, evaluate, and enroll high-potential candidates aligned with the academic and professional standards of the Gabelli School, while responding strategically to shifting market dynamics and enrollment trends in the highly competitive landscape of graduate management education.
This position requires occasional weekend and evening work, as well as domestic and international travel.
Essential Functions:
- Supports the strategic growth and direction of the MSA, MSF, and MSQF programs by monitoring enrollment metrics, application trends, and market conditions to inform proactive recruitment strategies.
- Collaborates with Faculty Program Directors and internal stakeholders to align admissions strategies with academic standards and program outcomes while refining program positioning and outreach priorities.
- Supports tuition revenue goals by identifying opportunities to improve applicant conversion, enrollment deposit rates, and financial aid strategies to enhance overall class yield.
- Develops and manages strategic recruitment pipelines with undergraduate institutions and professional associations to increase qualified applicant flow and support long-term enrollment sustainability.
- Counsels prospective students on the value proposition of specialized master's programs, providing detailed guidance on admissions requirements, program structure, and career outcomes through individualized outreach.
- Engages prospective candidates through diverse recruitment initiatives, including virtual communications, information sessions, and small-group interactions, to cultivate relationships and drive enrollment conversion.
- Manages the full admissions lifecycle for assigned programs by conducting holistic evaluations of applications, assessing academic preparedness for quantitatively rigorous graduate study.
- Contributes to the final admissions decision-making process by conducting candidate interviews and participating in committee discussions across the graduate portfolio.
- Optimizes the use of the Slate CRM system to track applicant progress, maintain data integrity, and analyze enrollment data to monitor pipeline health and conversion trends.
- Executes personalized yield strategies for admitted students to improve conversion from admission to matriculation through high-touch engagement and individualized guidance during the decision-making process.
- Represents the Gabelli School in competitive graduate markets by participating in domestic and international recruiting events to promote program differentiation and strengthen enrollment pipelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related area.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional or pre-professional experience in an admissions, recruitment, or related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training/and/or working knowledge of graduate management education.
- Experience managing user-facing technology applications (e.g., Slate, Salesforce, etc.).
- Experience working with a diverse group of peers, faculty, administrators, and graduate students.
- Experience recruiting for specialized or analytically rigorous graduate business programs in a competitive enrollment environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume candidate engagement while maintaining a personalized, relationship-driven admissions approach.
