The Department of Business Administration (BADM) at St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor (depending on qualifications and experience) on a tenure-track appointment. The position may be offered as a 12-month or 10-month contract depending on the successful candidate's and the University's needs and the candidate is expected to start in Spring Semester 2026.

The undergraduate college at St. Catherine University (St. Kate's) is one of only six US institutions that is both a women's college and a minority serving institution. Based in the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota, St. Kate's is home to a diverse group of around 3,500 students in varying disciplines and degree levels.

This faculty member will ensure our students receive a comprehensive business education. They will teach a wide range of foundational and advanced business courses, including Healthcare Management, Management, and Leadership. The successful candidate will also assume department chair leadership responsibilities crucial for the smooth operation and advancement of our department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Position the department to be a leader in educating women to lead and influence in business.
  • Ensure our students receive a comprehensive business education by teaching a wide range of foundational and advanced business courses in the areas of Healthcare Management, Management, and Leadership.
  • Work closely with the dean and faculty colleagues to support our students' success and advance department goals.
  • Oversee budget and program management, prepare and manage course schedules, and hire/staff classes for the department.
  • Cultivate a supportive department culture that encourages positive interactions among students and faculty.
  • Build cross-departmental collaborations to design and expand academic programs.
  • Lead department accreditation processes and standards, particularly with ACBSP accreditation.
  • Integrate business concepts and provide a cohesive learning experience that bridges theoretical knowledge with practical application.
  • The faculty member will have primary responsibility for teaching on campus each term and have extensive experience teaching in hybrid and online formats.
  • Flexibility to develop and introduce new courses or special topics in their area of expertise.
  • Display a commitment to fostering students' academic growth, including providing personalized guidance, especially for Health Care Management.
  • Support the diverse needs of students, including those from underrepresented groups.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
  • The faculty member will have a blend of professional experience and academic expertise.
  • Mentor and advise a diverse student body, essential to our university's mission.
  • Demonstrate ongoing engagement with the business industry.
  • Actively promote and enhance the School of Business and the department's academic programs in the business community.
  • Involvement in departmental, college, or university-wide committees or task forces.
  • Participate in leading academic and administrative initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Business Administration, Management, Healthcare Management, or Leadership (or ABD with earned doctorate by the date of hire).
  • Two or more years of teaching excellence at the baccalaureate level.
  • Two or more years of professional experience in business.
  • Ability to teach on campus throughout the academic year.
  • Experience delivering high-quality curriculum in classroom, hybrid, and online formats.
  • Deep commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated commitment to understanding and addressing students' diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Track record of being highly adaptable and willing to take on diverse responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience overseeing accreditation processes, particularly with ACBSP.
  • Experience in academic leadership roles such as Program Director or Department Chair.
  • Two or more years of experience working in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience leading academic and administrative initiatives.
  • Industry network and connections.

Compensation: Assistant Professor: $69,000-$91,000 (12-month contract), Associate Professor: $83,000-$109,000 (12-month contract). Salary will be prorated according to the length of the contract.
