Assistant Professor Accounting
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of the School of Accountancy the Assistant Professor requires research, teaching, and service responsibilities as well as a terminal degree. The position is a full time 10-month, tenure-track appointment beginning August 1, 2026, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
- Earned PhD in accounting or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in accounting, from an AACSB accredited institution by August 1, 2026.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing a strong and growing research and scholarship agenda and the production of research/creative activities as appropriate to the discipline.
- Evidence of the potential for above average teaching ability.
- Evidence of effective communication skills.
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- A teaching and research specialization in managerial or tax is preferred, but we will also consider other areas of specialization.
- Related professional experience.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, EA, CIA and CISA).
- Experience working with a variety of students.
- Experience in online course delivery, flipped classroom models, and the incorporation of technology into teaching.
Proposed Salary
Commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
