"Assistant Professor Accounting"

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of the School of Accountancy the Assistant Professor requires research, teaching, and service responsibilities as well as a terminal degree. The position is a full time 10-month, tenure-track appointment beginning August 1, 2026, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications

• Earned PhD in accounting or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in accounting, from an AACSB accredited institution by August 1, 2026.
• Demonstrated commitment to advancing a strong and growing research and scholarship agenda and the production of research/creative activities as appropriate to the discipline.
• Evidence of the potential for above average teaching ability.
• Evidence of effective communication skills.
• Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
• Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.

Preferred Qualifications

• A teaching and research specialization in managerial or tax is preferred, but we will also consider other areas of specialization.
• Related professional experience.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, EA, CIA and CISA).
• Experience working with a variety of students.
• Experience in online course delivery, flipped classroom models, and the incorporation of technology into teaching.

Proposed Salary

Commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
