Assistant Professor in Artificial Intelligence

The Faculty of Computer Science at the University of New Brunswick's Fredericton Campus focuses on teaching and research in areas such as artificial intelligence, computer systems, cybersecurity, data science, and software engineering. Applications are invited for two tenure-track Assistant Professor positions, limited to candidates with expertise in Artificial Intelligence, including Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Human-Centred AI, User Modeling, Data Science, and AI applications to games.

Successful candidates should hold a PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant discipline, and demonstrate potential for a strong, externally funded research program, supervision of students, industry collaboration, and teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels. Assets include entrepreneurship, industrial experience, and collaboration skills.

Appointees may associate with the Research Institute for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (RIDSAI) at https://unb.ca/ridsai. The position starts January 1st, 2026, subject to budgetary approval. Review of applications begins July 21st, 2025, and continues until filled. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, as per the AUNBT Collective Agreement.
