Pay Range: $85,000 - $110,000
Pay Determination: Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months salary unless otherwise specified.

Job Description:
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Syracuse University is recruiting a full-time tenure-track faculty member in Audiology at the rank of Assistant Professor. We welcome applicants who can develop a strong, independent program of research in any area of audiology or hearing science. Candidates should be prepared to teach in more than one of the following areas: auditory anatomy and physiology, clinical diagnostic audiology, pediatric audiology (auditory development, disorders, assessment, and habilitation/rehabilitation), and adult auditory rehabilitation (hearing aids, cochlear implants, assisted listening devices, cognition, tinnitus).
Full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in a research-oriented academic program offering BS, MS, AuD, AuD/PhD and PhD degrees. The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Establish and sustain a nationally recognized program of research
- Pursue external funding to support scholarly activities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in audiology and related areas
- Mentor student research projects and advise students academically
- Contribute to departmental, college, and university service
Compensation is nationally competitive, and the position carries full eligibility for tenure and promotion.
The position is at the assistant professor level, but individuals with some years of experience at this rank are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Audiology or a related discipline (required)
Job Specific Qualifications:
- CCC-A and/or clinically relevant experience (desirable, not required)
- Evidence of research productivity and the potential to build a nationally recognized program
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in audiology and related areas
Candidates with prior university teaching experience and an emerging record of scholarship consistent with the assistant professor level are especially encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Establish or continue a nationally recognized line of research, seek external research support, teach undergraduate and graduate courses in appropriate areas, mentor student research projects, participate in academic advising, and serve on departmental and college committees.
