Job Summary

Job ID 269128. Position # 40070687. The College of Science and Mathematics, Chemistry and Biochemistry department at Augusta University is seeking candidates for Assistant Professor positions starting in Fall 2024. Duties include teaching introductory general chemistry, chemistry for non-majors, organic chemistry lectures and/or labs. Positions include service and research components to strengthen undergraduate programs and are not tenure track.

Responsibilities

• Teaching: Teach courses, labs, and lectures to undergraduate and/or graduate students in topics including organic, biochemistry, analytical, physical, and inorganic chemistries.
• Scholarship: Conduct research and scholarly activities in chemistry and biochemistry, involving undergraduate majors and instructing graduate students.
• Service: Participate in department, college, and university committees to support Augusta University's mission.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Education, or related field. Early career as a faculty member. Must meet SACSCOC requirements, demonstrate teaching ability, scholarly activity, and other assigned duties.

Preferred Qualifications

Postdoctoral experience and prior classroom teaching experience.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Academic year based (August through May). Full-time equivalent (FTE) of 1.0. Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements.
