Assistant Professor in New Testament
McCormick Theological Seminary invites applications for a tenure track residential faculty position. We seek candidates who have earned a research doctorate in Bible, with a specialty in New Testament literature and broad capacity in the literature of Late Antiquity; can effectively engage a diverse community of students and scholars; show competency in contemporary scholarship based on historical and social methods as well as in minoritized and other ideological perspectives; are able to teach Biblical Greek; have the capacity to connect their scholarship to the formation of leaders and faith communities; share our commitment to theological education for transformation demonstrate the promise of excellence in scholarship and teaching; have a commitment to preparing people for leadership in ministry; are open to interdisciplinary teaching; and, have facility and experience with hybrid and/or online technology.
We encourage applications from multilingual scholars with the ability to teach graduate-level courses in Spanish or Korean.
Applicants should submit a letter of interest that includes a statement on teaching philosophy, curriculum vitae, two syllabi (actual or proposed), and a writing sample, along with the names of three references.
