DescriptionThe Elizabeth and Thomas Rankin School of Nursing invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing on July 1, 2026, at our beautiful and historic St. Francis Xavier University campus in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching and supervision within the undergraduate program, across its three program streams.
- Leading a program of research and contributing to scholarship within the School and University.
- Academic and professional service within the School and broader University community.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A baccalaureate degree in Nursing and a relevant doctoral degree. A PhD in nursing is preferred. Applicants currently enrolled in a doctoral program in Nursing or a related discipline will also be considered. Proof of credentials are required before appointment.
- Current or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner
- Evidence (or evident promise) of nursing scholarship, including innovation, teaching and learning, integration and application; and scholarly activities
- Evidence (or evident promise) of excellence in teaching and dedication to students.
- Demonstrated commitment to service and life-long learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience collaborating effectively with colleagues, teams, and external partnerships
- Expertise in pediatric would be an asset
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, in alignment with the collective agreement.
