Assistant Professor - Marketing - Tenure Track
Job Description:
- Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in supply chain management, business information systems, ERP systems, continuous improvement, and global business topics.
- Teach in various formats, including traditional classrooms, large auditorium sessions (up to 350 students), hybrid, and online modes.
- Create a curriculum that integrates current technologies and industry standards into supply chain management training.
- Mentor students in academic, career, and professional growth.
- Advise and support students in participating in supply chain and case competitions, as well as in student organizations.
- Achieve high teaching evaluations and showcase pedagogical excellence.
- Establish and maintain an independent research program in supply chain management, with a focus on areas such as emerging technologies, artificial intelligence applications, and ERP systems.
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at reputable conferences in supply chain management, operations management, and related fields.
- Seek external funding through grants, industry partnerships, or collaborative research initiatives.
- Support the WMU Center for Supply Chain Management's academic goals through applied research and industry engagement.
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary research projects with colleagues from across the university.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university governance, including serving on committees and developing programs.
- Participate in professional associations focused on supply chain management, operations management, and technology integration.
- Support departmental accreditation, program evaluation, and strategic planning efforts.
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners to enhance student experiential learning.
- Support recruitment, retention, and diversity efforts within the department and college.
Short Job Description:
- Earned doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., DBA) from an accredited institution in supply chain management, operations management, information systems, organizational leadership, business analytics, education with a documented business or organizational change focus, or a closely related field, completed by August 1, 2026.
- Demonstrated research potential through publications, conference presentations, or dissertation work in supply chain management, technology integration, organizational change, or related areas.
- Evidence of effective teaching at the university level, including experience in business information systems, supply chain, operations, global business, or technology-focused courses, or similar contexts.
- Commitment to innovative teaching methods and ability to educate a diverse group of students, including international students and non-traditional learners.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with faculty, students, and industry partners.
- Proven success in mentoring students through advising, research supervision, co-curricular activities, or student success initiatives.
