"Assistant Professor, Nursing (Tenure-Track)"

A full-time, nine-month faculty position. Provides instruction for our undergraduate and graduate nursing students. The focus will be on medical-surgical nursing, as well as specialty areas like pediatrics, obstetrics, and mental health. Teaches classroom lessons, skills, simulation labs, and at clinical sites. Manages student work and uses excellent communication within online platform.

Creates an active and dynamic learning environment by performing evidence-based teaching and evaluation of students.

Provides ongoing evaluation of students' knowledge and progression in cognitive, psychomotor, and affective skills.

Supports student progression in academics and socialization into the role of nursing.

Works with simulation coordinator to develop, implement, and evaluate clinical scenarios within the simulation laboratory environment.

Identifies an area of nursing inquiry including evidence-based projects and/or nursing research and provides goals for a realistic continuing plan.

Actively participates in a systematic plan for curriculum design, program evaluation, and accreditation needs.

Participates in recruitment, retention, and successful progression of students within the program. Participates in mentoring, advising, and registering students for nursing courses.

Participates in School of Nursing, College, University and community service activities and abides by policies. Works with faculty on collaborative service projects.

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse license (RN) by the time of appointment.

Minimum Qualifications: At least a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Nursing (MSN) from an accredited college or university; at least two years of experience as a registered nurse with evidence of fundamentals and/or medical-surgical instruction; and an unencumbered Ohio RN license.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or currently enrolled in a doctoral degree nursing program. Experience in pediatrics, OB, and/or mental health. Certified Nurse Education Certification.
