Job Description

Join a collaborative, student-centered Biology department where your passion for teaching can make a meaningful impact. We're seeking an Assistant Professor of Biology with an emphasis in microbiology and nutrition who is excited to engage diverse learners and contribute to a thriving community college environment.

In this role, you'll teach a full load of lecture and lab courses, including microbiology and nutrition, along with other biology offerings as needed. You'll design engaging coursework, lead hands-on laboratory experiences, and evaluate student learning through thoughtful assignments and timely feedback. Beyond the classroom, you'll advise and mentor students, support adjunct and dual credit instructors, and contribute to curriculum development, recruitment, and college service. You'll also incorporate innovative and non-traditional delivery methods - including online instruction - while continuously refining your teaching through assessment and professional development.

We're looking for an educator who brings energy to the classroom and fosters curiosity and confidence in students. You should be adaptable in your teaching approach, skilled in both lecture and lab environments, and comfortable using technology to enhance learning. Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds are essential. A forward-thinking perspective and enthusiasm for growing the biology program will set you apart.
