Assistant Professor of Biology
Assistant Professor of Biology for Eastern New Mexico Univ. to work at our Portales, NM loc. In this tenure-track on-campus role, responsibilities include: Develop & teach undergraduate & graduate courses in Biology, incl intro bio, genetics, & advanced courses in forensic bio & bioinformatics; Do research & establish biomedical research program to provide training & applied or basic research experiences for students; Seek extramural funding to support research; Direct & mentor graduate students in theses & research; Maintain appropriate service (may involve occasional weekend hours) to the dept, college and university, incl serve on committees, assist with recruitment & retention efforts, & advise undergraduates; Use traditional & online education tech, & effective communication skills; Other duties as assigned; Professional development, incl conference attendance, is encouraged. May undergo background checks including ref checks. Must have Ph.D. (ABD) in Biology or related field.
