Postdoctoral Fellow/Staff
The laboratory of Dr. Dmitry Kurouski at Texas A&M University, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, seeks to recruit a Postdoctoral Fellow or a Staff Member with experience in protein biophysics. We expect to find answers to several key questions in amyloid biology:
- How do lipids alter the secondary structure of amyloid oligomers and fibrils?
- Why are protein aggregates formed in the presence of lipids exhibiting drastically different cell toxicity?
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate should have strong knowledge of protein expression and purification, experience working with eukaryotic cells, and a good understanding of biochemistry. The candidate should be able to learn biophysical methods used by our group to determine the morphology and secondary structure of protein aggregates, including nano-Infrared spectroscopy and AFM.
The Postdoctoral Fellow or a Staff Member will receive an NIH-level salary and all benefits of Texas A&M University. The successful candidate will also have an opportunity to develop their own research projects, learn and advance molecular methods of analysis and spectroscopic skills.
Where we are:
The laboratory is located in the main campus of Texas A&M University (College Station, TX). We are around 2-2.5 hours away from Houston, Dallas and Austin.
How to Apply: A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate. Interested applicants should send a single PDF file of their current CV with publications list to Prof. Dmitry Kurouski (dkurouski@tamu.edu).
