Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor of Engineering Technology serves as a faculty member in the Department of Engineering Technology within the College of Science and Technology. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's mission through excellence in graduate instruction, scholarly activity, student mentoring, and service to the university and profession.
Primary responsibilities include delivering high-quality instruction in graduate-level Engineering Management courses, with the majority of teaching responsibilities focused on graduate coursework offered in Hyflex/hybrid and online formats. The faculty member will play a central role in supporting the growth, quality, and continuous improvement of the graduate program.
Additional teaching responsibilities may include selected undergraduate courses, as appropriate to departmental needs. Undergraduate offerings may be delivered in hybrid, online, or face-to-face formats and are intended to complement the department's instructional model and support a collaborative, multidisciplinary learning environment.
In alignment with graduate faculty expectations, the position includes active participation in graduate education through mentoring, advising, and serving on graduate committees, including thesis or applied project supervision as appropriate. The faculty member is expected to maintain an active program of scholarship and professional engagement that supports graduate instruction, contributes to the discipline, and advances the academic goals of the university.
Additional responsibilities include contributing to graduate program development and improvement, participating in accreditation and assessment activities, engaging in collaborative initiatives, and providing service to the department, college, university, and broader professional community. Faculty are encouraged to pursue external funding opportunities, engage in applied research, and support partnerships that enhance graduate student experiences and workforce preparation.
The Associate Professor is expected to uphold and maintain the standards required for graduate faculty membership, including appropriate academic credentials, demonstrated scholarly productivity, continued professional growth, and meaningful contributions to graduate-level instruction and scholarship.
Minimum Required Education
The successful candidate must hold a terminal degree or a Master's Degree and relevant Professional Licensure in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a closely related field, and must be able to obtain and maintain a graduate faculty teaching status (i.e., Associate or Full Graduate Faculty status).

Individuals with a PE License or other relevant professional licenses are highly sought after. The successful candidate should have at least 5 years of teaching or work experience.
