Job Description

Help students build confidence and capability in mathematics at our beautiful lakeside community college. As an Assistant Professor of Mathematics, this tenure-track role delivers high-quality instruction across courses such as college mathematics, technical mathematics, and/or statistics, with a focus on making mathematical concepts accessible, relevant, and applicable.

Faculty teach a full course load each semester using engaging, inclusive approaches in both traditional and alternative delivery formats. Responsibilities include developing course materials, selecting affordable learning resources, and designing meaningful assessments that support student learning. This role evaluates student outcomes, provides timely feedback, and uses data to continuously improve instruction and curriculum. In addition to teaching, faculty advise students, support recruitment efforts, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in college service. It may also include mentoring adjunct faculty and teaching courses such as first-year experience or at off-site locations.

The ideal candidate brings strong content knowledge in mathematics or statistics along with the ability to create an engaging classroom environment that fosters student success. Effective communication skills, adaptability across teaching modalities, and a commitment to inclusive, student-centered instruction are essential. This position requires a collaborative, motivated educator who is dedicated to helping a diverse student population develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed academically and beyond.

Minimum Qualifications Masters degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Statistics, or related field required. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.

Starting pay range: $52,359 - $72,670

Work Site Location: Coeur d' Alene Campus
Work Schedule: This tenure track position has summers off, with pay and benefits spread over 12 months!
