The Idaho State University Department of Theatre and Dance invites applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track position in acting beginning in August of 2026. We seek a candidate who demonstrates a strong commitment to undergraduate education and collaborative creation.

Candidates must have a completed Master of Fine Arts degree and be versed in various acting, movement, and vocal techniques, including teaching musical theatre and choreography.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching courses in acting at all levels, voice and dialects, movement for the stage, and other areas based on expertise. Directing 1-2 main-stage productions per year, mentoring students, and contributing to program growth. Additional duties include student recruitment, advising, maintaining a professional profile, and collaborating on productions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master of Fine Arts degree in Theatre, Acting/Performance.
- Evidence of successful teaching at the university level.
- Evidence of professional acting.
- Evidence of choreographing and/or directing musical theatre.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant professional acting and/or directing experience.
- Experience teaching advanced acting, voice and dialects, and movement.
- Experience or advanced training in choreography, stage combat, or other specializations.
Salary will be between $58,000 to $62,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
