Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), a nationally prominent comprehensive college for the performing and media arts, seeks an experienced performing artist and educator for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment in Piano, intended to begin August 15, 2026. Initial appointment is three years, after which the faculty member is eligible for reappointment. CCM’s piano department is a highly collaborative, multi-dimensional area of the Keyboard Division, offering BM, MM, Artist Diploma, and DMA degree programs.

This could include but is not limited to areas such as community engagement, music entrepreneurship, music leadership, music technology, pedagogy, chamber music, or diverse repertoire.
Essential Functions
- Serve as piano teacher-in-residence
- Teach undergraduate and graduate applied piano lessons
- Teach weekly piano studio classes
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in chamber music, arts entrepreneurship, piano literature, and/or areas reflecting candidate’s expertise
- Recruit and retain students of exceptional promise
- Contribute to community and outreach programs as part of CCM’s broader educational and cultural mission
- Advise doctoral students on capstone projects, theses, dissertations, and/or lecture recitals
- Engage in entrepreneurial initiatives within the performing arts space.
- Maintain robust regional, national, and international visibility through solo, chamber, and/or orchestral performances, teaching, and/or research
- Serve the college and university community through activities such as committee membership, academic advising, and mentorship of students
- Model professionalism, collegiality, integrity, and a commitment to fostering a respectful and supportive academic and artistic environment.
Minimum Requirements
Prior to the effective date of the appointment, the successful candidate must have
- A Master’s Degree in Music or related field.
- Two years of professional experience in piano. Such experience must encompass two years of professional performance experience as well as two academic years of professional teaching experience, which can, but need not, be contemporaneous to the professional performance experience.
