The Department of Anthropology at Washington State University invites applications for a permanent, full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position on the flagship campus in Pullman, WA, with a specialty in cultural anthropology focused on health, well-being, and/or human-environment interactions.
Job Duties: Teach face-to-face and/or online courses, contribute to the research reputation of the department, work with graduate students, and provide service to the department, college, university, and profession. This is a 9-month academic appointment teaching twelve (12) credit hours per year.
Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in anthropology or related discipline by August 16, 2026.
- Active research program in cultural anthropology focusing on health or well-being of living people.
- Commitment to innovative mixed- or multi-method research.
- Collaboration with communities and interdisciplinary teams.
- Research with real-world applications addressing community needs.
- Demonstrated record or potential for research accomplishment.
- Potential to establish externally funded research program.
- Record or potential to teach and mentor students.
- Research program suitable for student collaborations.
- Research and teaching that complements departmental strengths.
- Support for access and opportunity in alignment with WSU's land-grant mission.
Salary: $72,000-$82,000 per nine-month academic year.
