Assistant Teaching Professor of German (Two positions)
The Department of German, Slavic, and Eurasian Studies at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for two positions as Assistant Teaching Professor of German. These are renewable-term hires intended to be career positions with the opportunity for advancement in rank going forward. The primary focus in both cases is on language teaching as well as on program building.
The ideal candidate will have the Ph.D. in hand and have demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching. A graduate background in second language acquisition and/or pedagogy would be welcome.
The teaching load will be three courses per semester. One of the positions will include service as Director of Undergraduate Studies, which comes with a one-course teaching reduction per year. The positions also offer the opportunity to be involved in our Summer Berlin programs. We are seeking innovative teachers with demonstrated experience and ideas in program building, student recruitment, study abroad, and extracurricular activities.
